These funds are ideal for those who wish to create a perpetual named fund to enhance community development. Grants from these endowments provide support for charitable purposes and projects at the direction of the CCCF Board of Directors.

Established in 1997 to hold contributions anticipating the minimum growth to start a named endowment.

Established in 1999.

Established in 1995.

Edwin H Becker Family Endowment

Established in 2001.

The Mike and Kim Anderson Family Unrestricted Endowment

Established in 2002. Mike and Kim endowed this fund after generously contributing to the Angelos K. Chogas Memorial Pass-Through Fund, which enabled the purchase of defibrillators for city and county first responders in memory of Mike’s father, Bob.

The Kroeger Funeral Home Family Unrestricted Endowment

Established in 2002 by the Kroeger Family to support charitable organizations in Cass County. The Kroeger family has owned and operated a funeral home service at 711 East Market Street in Logansport for over 125 years. Paul Kroeger was a founding member of the Cass County Community Foundation Board of Directors.

The Logansport/Cass County Morning Kiwanis Club Unrestricted Endowment

Established in 2002. The purpose of the club is to support local charitable organizations in Cass County.

The Grusenmeyer Family Unrestricted Endowment

Established in 2002 by Dee Dee (Grusenmeyer) Klotz. She saw the Lilly Endowment Inc GIFT Phase V initiative as an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy in her family name and to provide a personalized charitable gift – giving vehicle for extended family and friends to enhance the quality of life in Cass County. All Unrestricted endowments provide grants for community projects.

The Jack & Linda Baker Family Unrestricted Endowment

Established in 2002 to support local charitable organizations. Jack was co-owner of Baker’s Specialty in Logansport and currently teaches at IUK. Linda is employed as a secretary at Logansport High School. They are the parents of Lauri Ulmer and Sarah Cline.

The Steve & Heide Sims Family Unrestricted Endowment

Established in 2002. This fund was created to support local charitable organizations in Cass County.

The Kylan Ashlan Costello Memorial Unrestricted Endowment

Established in 2001 by Kylan’s parents, Kim A. and Kimberly A. Costello, after his untimely death in a boating accident. Many friends, family members, and local business establishments contributed through donations and fund-raising activities.

Established in 2002 by the Board of Directors of the Cass County Community Foundation to enhance the Gift Phase V Initiative

Designated Endowment Funds

A designated fund is established for donors who want to contribute consistently to the same organization(s).

The Blank Family Memorial Endowment

Established in 1995 by former CCCF Board Member Ted Blank to provide a 4-H scholarship and to provide support to the Cass County Community Foundation, the Shiloh Church of God, and the Webb Chapel.

Calvary Presbyterian Church of Logansport Foundation, Inc. Endowment

Established in 1996 to provide support to the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Logansport Foundation, Inc.

Cass County Camelot Foundation, Inc. Endowment

Established in 1997 to provide support to the Cass County Camelot Foundation, Inc.

Cass County Carousel Endowment

Established in 1995 to help provide support to the Cass County Carousel Corporation.

Logansport Art Association Sydor Operating Endowment

Originally established in 1996 to provide support to the Cass County Children’s Home. When the Children’s Home ceased to exist in 2003, this fund was renamed and redirected to support the Logansport Art Association.

Cass County 4-H Association Endowment

Established in 1998 to provide support to the Cass County 4-H Association.

Cass County Solid Waste Management District Endowment

Established in 1997 to provide support for appropriate environmental, educational, charitable and other exempt purposes in Cass County.

Angelos K. Chogas Memorial Endowment

Established in 1998 by Mary Chogas, in memory of their father, to purchase defibrillators for local fire/rescue departments.

Chogas Family Memorial Flower Endowment

Established in 1998 to provide support to the Trinity Episcopal Church general fund.

Deane Family Endowment

Established in 1997 to support the Vestry of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Logansport Indiana.

Domestic Violence Task Force of Cass County, Inc. Endowment

Established in 1995 for the support of the Domestic Violence Task Force of Cass County Inc.

Earl C. Fernbaugh Crippled Children's Trust Endowment

Established in 1995 to help local children receive treatment at Riley Hospital, and to send these children to summer camp programs at Riley.

First United Methodist Church Endowment

Established in 1999 to provide support to the First United Methodist Church in Logansport, Indiana.

Friends of All Saints School Endowment

Established in 1998 to provide support to All Saints Catholic School in Logansport, Indiana.

Libby Hillis Tuthill Designated Endowment

Established in 2004 by the family of Libby Hillis Tuthill, to provide support to Civic Players of Logansport. Libby was instrumental in the creation of Civic Players in 1958.

Logansport Art Association Wilmer Flory Scholarship Endowment

Established in 1996, enabling the Logansport Art Association to provide scholarships to eligible students.

Logansport-Cass County Library Memorial Endowment

Established in 1996 for the support of the Logansport-Cass County Public Library.

Logansport Memorial Hospital Foundation Endowment

Established in 1995 for the support of Memorial Hospital Foundation of Cass County, Inc.

Logansport Performing Arts Council/Arts in Education Endowment

Established in 1996 to help provide support to the Performing Arts Council "Arts in Education" Program.

Logansport Professional Firefighters Benefit Burn Out Endowment

Established in 1997 as a fund to provide support to the victims of fires within Cass County.

Logansport Rotary Club Memorial Trust Endowment

Established in 1996 as a designated scholarship fund for Cass County students, administered by the local Rotary Club.

River of Life Christian Church Endowment in Memory of Ted Ingmire

Established in 1998 by the Ted Ingmire family to provide support to Ninth Street Christian Church, now known as the River of Life Christian Church.

Spring Creek Cemetery Endowment

Established in 1996 to provide support to maintain, beautify and preserve Spring Creek Cemetery, located at Spring Creek Christian Church.

United Way of Cass County Operating Endowment

Established in 1999 to provide operating support to the United Way of Cass County, Inc.

Established in 1995 for Purdue Technology Students from Cass or Howard Counties attending the Indiana University Kokomo Campus.

Paul and Helen Young Endowment
Established in 2002 by the Estate of Helen Young in memory of her late husband, Paul Young, for the benefit of All Saints School. Although the Youngs were not members of All Saints Parish, Paul always stated that his education at the former St. Joseph School truly enriched his life.
The Morris Family Endowment

The Morris Family Endowment, created in 2006 by Mrs. Margaret Morris and the Tom Morris Family to provide support to Calvary Presbyterian Church Foundation Scholarship Fund, Cass County Carousel, Cass County Cause for Paws, Cass County Family Y Financial Assistance Program, Cass County Performing Arts Council, Logansport Art Association, Logansport Children’s Choir, and United Way of Cass County.

Scholarship Funds

Scholarship funds can be established with broad criteria or more specific criteria. Scholarships can be named for an individual, family or organization and are a thoughtful way to memorialize a friend or loved one.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program

Established in 1998 to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana and to leverage further the ability of Indiana's community foundations to enhance the quality of life of the state's residents. The award is based on academic ability, achievements, activities and citizenship, and provides recipients with full tuition and required fees for four years, plus $800 per year for books and required equipment.

Lionel Billman Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2001 by the family of Lionel Billman to provide scholarships to qualified students graduating from any Cass County high school and who are likely to succeed as college, university or trade school students.

Al Dunn Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1998 by the family and friends of local postman Al Dunn to provide scholarship support to Logansport High School graduates.

Cass County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Pass-Through Scholarship

Established in 1998 to provide scholarships to qualified students in Cass County and to support the charitable intentions of local Vietnam Veterans.

Gangloff Industries, Inc. Pass-Through Scholarship

This fund was established in 1998 by Gangloff Industries, and provides $1000 scholarships to top music students from Caston, Lewis Cass, Logansport, North Miami, and Pioneer High Schools.

Kassandra M. Todd Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2001 by the Todd Family for qualified female students who have a C+ average or above pursuing a degree in math or science at the college level.
Irma Bowyer Trust Scholarship
Established in 2001 for Lewis Cass High School graduates in need of financial assistance for the college or university of their choice.
Charles W. and Phyllis J. Kingery Scholarship
Established in 2000 to provide scholarships to qualified students graduating from Caston, Lewis Cass, Logansport, or Pioneer High Schools.
Dr. Bernard R. and Frances E. Hall County-Wide Scholarship
Established in 2001 to provide $10,000 scholarships to Cass County students graduating from Logansport, Lewis Cass, Caston or Pioneer High Schools.
Harriet L. and Glen R. Thompson Music Scholarship Endowment
Established in 2000 by the family of Harriet L. and Glen R. Thompson, owners for many years of Thompson Music House in Logansport, to provide scholarships to qualified students graduating from Caston, Pioneer, Lewis Cass and Logansport High Schools.
Back Home Again In Indiana Scholarship
Established in 2000 to provide scholarships to non-traditional students residing in Cass County, who intend to work in Cass County upon completion of their post-secondary education.
Florence R. Buchanan Scholarship

Established in 1998 to provide scholarships to qualified Logansport High School senior students who are pursuing a career in nursing.

Cass County Memorial 4-H Scholarship

Established in 1998 to provide scholarships to qualified Cass County 4-H members.

Community Foundation Ivy Tech Scholarship

Established in 1996 to provide scholarships to Cass County students enrolled at Ivy Tech State College.

Frank and Rhoda Cook Education Scholarship

Established in 1995. This fund was established to provide educational opportunities to a graduating senior of Logansport High School who otherwise would not be able to provide for his or her own education.

Leo Crowe Scholarship

Established in 1997 by Merle Crowe, wife of the late Leo Crowe, to provide scholarships to students from Caston, Logansport and Pioneer High Schools in Cass County.

Richard W. Gohl Track & Field Award Trust Scholarship

Established in 1999 to provide scholarships to Logansport High School students who have participated in track and field and are enrolled in an Indiana college.

William C. & Margie L. Grusenmeyer Family Scholarship

Established in 1998 to provide scholarships to qualified students graduating from Logansport High School who are in need of financial assistance.

Dr. Bernard R. and Frances E. Hall Scholarship

Established in 1998 to provide a $10,000 scholarship to qualified students graduating from Logansport High School who will be attending the Indiana University Bloomington campus on a full-time basis.

Fred Herrick Award Trust Scholarship

Established in 1995 to provide financial support to a Lewis Cass High School graduating senior pursuing a career in agriculture or an agriculture-related field, and attending an Indiana college or university.

John A. Marocco Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1998 in memory of Logansport High School teacher Johnny Marocco, this fund provides scholarships to students graduating from Logansport High School needing financial assistance and enrolled in any college, university or accredited trade school.

Joe Patacsil Scholarship

Established in 1997 to provide scholarships to qualified Logansport High School students who are in need of financial assistance, are enrolled in a higher educational institution and have participated in the wrestling program while at Logansport High School.

Al and Ruth Pettit Basketball Scholarship

Established in 1998 to provide scholarships to qualified members of the Logansport Berries boys basketball team graduating from Logansport High School.

Roberts-Gaal Family Scholarship

Established in 1998 to provide scholarships for tertiary education to qualified students graduating from Logansport High School.

Frederick A. Sabatini Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1998 to provide scholarships to qualified students attending Indiana University.

Tony Vesh Scholarship

Established in 1998 in memory of Tony Vesh, to provide scholarships to Logansport High School graduates needing financial assistance, who will be attending an Indiana college/university or trade school.

Mark E. Wolfe Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1999 in memory of Mark E. Wolfe to provide scholarships to Logansport High School graduates who lettered in Cross Country or Track, who express an interest in participating in Track & Field at the collegiate level, and who are deserving of financial assistance.

Pioneer Scholarship Endowment

The Pioneer Junior-Senior High School Student Council created the Pioneer Scholarship Endowment in February of 2003. The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships for qualified students graduating from Pioneer High School who are deserving of financial assistance and who are likely to succeed as a post secondary student.

Kylan Costello Memorial Scholarship Pass-Through

Friends and family members established the Kylan Ashlan Costello Memorial Scholarship Fund in 2002. This scholarship is awarded to a senior graduating from Logansport, Caston, Pioneer or Lewis Cass High School, who plans on pursuing a football or cheerleading experience while attending an institution of higher education at the collegiate level.

Sue Moser Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2003 in memory of Sue Moser by her mother, Joanne Lachenmaier, to provide scholarships to graduates of Pioneer or Logansport High School, who are pursuing a nursing degree.

Richard W. Cassidy Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2003 in memory of Dick Cassidy, who was instrumental in the formation of the Cass County Community Foundation and was a staunch supporter of many community activities. This scholarship is awarded to graduates of any Cass County high school who are well-rounded, renaissance-style individuals with an involvement in several artistic disciplines such as literature, music, theater, art, and dance.

Oris Shanks Scholarship

Established in 2003 by Meredith Jeanne Shanks in memory of her husband, Oris Shanks. This fund will award scholarships to qualified students graduating from any Cass County high school.

Clifford & Esta McKee Scholarship

Established in 1992 with Community State Bank to award scholarships to deserving students graduating from Pioneer High School who demonstrate financial need, with preference given to students who plan to become elementary school teachers. This scholarship was transferred to CCCF in 2003.

Tamzen K. Myers Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1991 with Community State Bank by Frank and Mary Myers in memory of their daughter, Tamzen Myers. This fund awards scholarships to qualified female students graduating from Pioneer High School, pursuing a career in science or a science-related field. This scholarship was transferred to CCCF in 2003.

Max Quirk Family Scholarship Fund in memory of Birtie and Patricia

This scholarship was established in 2004 by Max Quirk, in memory of Alberta (Birtie) and Patricia (Pat) Quirk, to provide financial assistance to a qualifying graduate of Lewis Cass High School.

Lewis Cass Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established in 2004 to assist graduates of Lewis Cass High School in continuing their education, with two scholarships to be awarded each year; one for a qualifying college-bound student, and one for a qualifying student enrolling in a skills training program.

Brad Scott Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established in 2000 by the family and friends of pork farmer Brad Scott to provide scholarships to qualified students graduating from any Cass County high school who are present or former members of Cass County 4-H. Brad Scott was a member of Springcreek Christian Church and was very involved in the Cass County 4-H program.

Kandy Greer Vermeersch Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established in 2004 by Michael & Karrie Knebel in memory of Karrie’s sister, Kandy. This fund provides scholarships to qualified students graduating from Lewis Cass or Pioneer High School, pursuing a baccalaureate degree in the field of healthcare.

Andrew Vermeersch Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established in 2004 by Michael & Karrie Knebel in memory of Karrie’s nephew, Andrew. This fund provides scholarships to qualified students graduating from Lewis Cass or Pioneer High School, pursuing a baccalaureate degree in the field of engineering.

William A. and Valerie M. Frushour Scholarship

This fund was created in 2004 by William Frushour, a farmer, and his wife Valerie, a homemaker. This fund provides scholarships to qualified students graduating from Caston High School and Logansport High School. The Frushours wish to encourage higher education, particularly in the fields of agriculture and nursing.

James P. Weaver Memorial Scholarship

The James P. Weaver Memorial Scholarship was established in 2004 by the family of Jim Weaver, a prominent local businessman and President of the Logansport-Cass County Economic Development Corporation. Many friends and community members who were saddened at his unexpected passing contributed to the establishment of this fund. This fund provides scholarships to qualifying students graduating from Logansport High School.

Frank E. Tolbert Prize in Public Speaking Award

This fund was established in 2005 in honor of Logansport attorney Frank E. Tolbert, who has practiced law in the community for fifty years. The permanent endowment was created in honor of Mr. Tolbert by his present and former attorney colleagues, to award a scholarship to a member of the Logansport High School Speech Team.

Logan City Ice/Heckard Family Scholarship

This fund was established in 2006 to award scholarships to students graduating from any Cass County high school who plan to attend Ivy Tech Community College and major in Machine Tool Technology or Manufacturing and Industrial Technology. Scholarship creator Tom Heckard established this scholarship to address the shortage of qualified people with technical skills in Cass County, and to continue his family’s support of Ivy Tech and the Community Foundation.

Gym Bag Scholarship Pass-Through

This fund was established in 2006 to award a one-time scholarship to a student graduating from Logansport High School who earned two or more varsity letters at LHS, and plans to attend a post secondary school in Indiana. LHS senior Dannan Mordenti established the Gym Bag Scholarship Fund as her Senior Project. Dannan’s goal was to establish a scholarship that would give recognition to the efforts of Berry athletes.

Theda & Kenneth Sheetz Scholarship

This fund was established in 2006 in honor of Theda and Kenneth Sheetz, lifelong supporters of education, to award scholarships to qualified students graduating from Lewis Cass High School who are majoring in Fine Arts, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, at any four-year Indiana institution.

The Morris Family LHS Scholarship

This fund was established in 2006 by Mrs. Margaret Morris and the Tom Morris Family to award scholarships to qualified students graduating from Logansport High School, who plan to attend any four-year Indiana institution.

The Morris Family LHS Vocational Scholarship

This fund was established in 2006 by Mrs. Margaret Morris and the Tom Morris Family to award scholarships to qualified students graduating from Logansport High School, who plan to attend a two-year post-secondary institution or trade school.

Agency Endowment Funds

These funds are established by local non-profit agencies who wish to endow a portion of their assets

Cass County Family Y Endowment

Established in 1999 for the sole use and benefit of the Cass County Family Y in promoting the improvement of the Y.

Four County Counseling Foundation Endowment

Established in 1998 to provide support to the Four County Counseling Foundation.

Little Turtle Waterway Plaza Maintenance Endowment

Established in 2000 to provide support to Little Turtle Waterway Corporation for the maintenance of Little Turtle Waterway Plaza.

The Cass County Humane Society Endowment

Established in 2003 to support the facilities and services of animal welfare and public education in Cass County.

Advised Pass-Through Funds

These funds are a non-permanent vehicle for those charitable groups who have applied for, but not yet received their own not-for-profit status, or who wish the Foundation to serve as their fiscal agent.

Cass County Historical Society Pass-Through

Established in 1997 to provide support for the charitable intentions of the Cass County Historical Society.

Four County Counseling Foundation Pass-Through

Established in 1998 to support the charitable intentions of the Four County Counseling Foundation.

Logansport Professional Firefighters Local #470 Pass-Through

Established in 1998 to support the charitable intentions of the Logansport Professional Firefighters Local #470.

Prevent Child Abuse Cass County Pass-Through
Established in 2001 to support the charitable intentions of the Cass County Child Abuse Prevention Council.
School-to-Work Pass-Through

Established in 1998 to support the charitable intentions of the School to Work Committee of the Logansport Community School Corporation.

Hoosier Soldiers Support Pass-Through Fund

Established in 2003 to provide support to Cass County military personnel whose paychecks were shorted due to payroll adjustments.

Character Counts Pass-Through Fund

Established in 2004 to provide support to the Character Counts Program of Cass County, promoting the Six Pillars of Character to Cass County schoolchildren.
